BackgroundPeriodontal disease (PD) and diabetes mellitus (DM) have a well-established bidirectional relationship, affecting glycaemic control and chronic disease outcomes. However, the extent to which medical training supports physician awareness of this association remains unclear especially in resource-limited settings. ObjectiveTo assess exposure to oral health education and to identify predictors of awareness of PD-DM association among physicians. MethodsA cross-sectional study was conducted among 146 physicians managing diabetic patients at a tertiary teaching hospital in Ghana. A structured questionnaire assessed exposure to oral health education, periodontal disease knowledge (score range 0-5), and awareness using a 5-item Likert scale (score range 5-25). Multivariable linear regression identified predictors of awareness. ResultsAlthough 62.1% reported exposure to oral health content during undergraduate training, 59.2% rated its quality as poor. Mean awareness score was 20.6 (S
BackgroundHigh workload among healthcare workers has increasingly been correlated with poor patient outcomes, inefficient operational and financial outcomes, and burnout. Despite growing literature exploring causes of attending physician workload, there is limited understanding of trainee-specific measures. ObjectiveWe aimed to characterize elements contributing to trainee workload and perceived challenges and satisfiers to the trainee workday as a foundation for better understanding and measuring trainee work experience. MethodsInternal Medicine and Medicine-Pediatrics residents at an academic medical center were invited to participate in focus groups discussing contributors to inpatient workload and work experience between March and April 2024. A qualitative content analysis identified key metrics of trainee workload and work experience, which were then consolidated into overarching domains. A structured, multi-round rating process ranked the perceived relevance of each metric. Resul

IntroductionEvaluate large language models (LLMs) for scoring medical student essays, and compare various prompting techniques and models. MethodsOpenAI GPT scored 51 medical student reflection essays (15 real, 36 fabricated) using a previously-reported 6-point rubric (April-May 2025). We compared 29 prompt-model conditions by systematically varying the LLM prompts (including the persona, scoring rubric, few-shot learning [exemplars], chain-of-thought reasoning, and temperature), fine-tuning, and model (including GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1-mini, GPT-o4-mini, and GPT-4-Turbo). Outcomes were accuracy (compared with human raters, measured using single-score intraclass correlation coefficient [ICC] and mean absolute difference [MAD; zero indicates perfect agreement]), within-condition reproducibility, and cost. ResultsAcross all conditions, it took mean (SD) 3.73 (3.12) seconds to score 1 essay. The cost to score 100 essays was USD $0.04 for GPT-4.1-mini, $0.21 for GPT-4.1, $0.57 for GPT-4.1 with 3
In recent years, progress in medical informatics and machine learning has been accelerated by the availability of openly accessible benchmark datasets. However, patient-level electronic medical record (EMR) data are rarely available for teaching or methodological development due to privacy, governance, and re-identification risks. This has limited reproducibility, transparency, and hands-on training in cardiovascular risk modelling. Here we introduce PRIME-CVD, a parametrically rendered informatics medical environment designed explicitly for medical education. PRIME-CVD comprises two openly accessible synthetic data assets representing a cohort of 50,000 adults undergoing primary prevention for cardiovascular disease. The datasets are generated entirely from a user-specified causal directed acyclic graph parameterised using publicly available Australian population statistics and published epidemiologic effect estimates, rather than from patient-level EMR data or trained generative mode

Good evening, r/nursing . We know this is a challenging time for all due to the outrageous events that occurred on a Minnesota street yesterday. As your modteam, we would like to take a moment to address some questions we've gotten regarding our moderator actions in the last 48 hours and to make our position on the death of Alex Pretti, and our future moderation actions regarding this topic, completely clear. Six years ago at the beginning of the pandemic, we witnessed an incredible swell of activity from users not typically seen as participants within our community. Misinformation was plentiful and rife. As many of you recall, accusations of nurses harming or outright killing patients to create a 'plandemic' were unfortunately a dime a dozen. We were inundated with vaccine deniers, mask haters, and social distancing detractors. For every voice of reason from a flaired and long-standing contributor in our forum, there was at least one outside interloper here simply to argue. At that ju
I know that one of the big frustrations in this sub is the inability to discuss many aspects about individual programs. Keep in mind there are more than 300 accredited PA programs in the US, and if everyone were to ask about them, posts would get buried almost immediately. Believe me, SilenceIsAg and I hear you, and have wrestled with trying to find some sort of equitable solution. Today, I created a fillable Google form to let you self-report your contact with programs. The sheet will calculate the days between submission & first real contact, along with the days between interview and final decision. For submission date, please be sure to pick the date that all submission materials were in for a particular program. As in, if you submit CASPA June 14, but you submit a supplemental on June 21, then your submission date would be June 21. A caveat to this is: let's say a program pre-screens applicants and only invites qualified applicants to submit a supplemental. Let's say that you apply

Quizlet had helped me study for all of my tests and it’s always helpful!!
I would highly recommend getting Quizlet. This app has help me study for several years and I plan to use it for forever.
Very good
I’ve struggled with studying my entire life. I’ve tried numerous different study methods, but the one I’ve found works best for me is flashcards. The only problem is that creating them can be very time-consuming. This app not only allows you to create your own flashcards, but it also gives you the ability to customize little games and quizzes to help reinforce the information and really lock it in. I didn’t realize just how important those additional tools were to my learning experience until I started using them. If you’re someone who struggles with memorization, you have to give Quizlet a try!
It’s available on my phone. Amazing! Can be used anytime , anywhere. I love it
Amazing
I can’t view any announcements on mobile anymore after the update. The whole point of canvas on my phone is that it makes my courses easily accessible. Why should I continue to use it when I don’t get any notifications nor can I view any important updates from my professors??
I much prefer the older layout compared to the current one. I don’t like that it shows former groups from classes I am no longer In and I have no way to remove the groups from the layout. Canvas, please give the option to return to the previous layout for those of us who prefer it, it was much more user friendly before
Good idea to have this app. The menus are fine; good organization. However, details like actual work submitted or feedback are missing. I don’t think it goes through any testing before deployment. It is riddled with obvious bugs. For example, the grades under Assignment are updated; the grades under Grades are not, even after forcing an update. There is no mechanism to submit bugs; hence, I am using this review (hopefully, someone reads it)
This sucks
Absolutely love it
This app just gets worse and worse every day. I’m over it, won’t be renewing my subscription
NOT appreciated. Makes me want to get rid of my whole subscription except I’m up to level 16…
A lot of people can’t pay all at once for a big discount but still want to use your product. I think it would be conductive to make the monthly payments more reasonable in comparison. Something that still gives the incentive to purchase the yearly plan.
Love ittttttttt
I absolutely love duolingo! It helped me learn so many different languages. The only bad thing is the streaks, the will somehow get upset if you loose your streak and gets a little annoying. In general this app is great!
I learned Spanish
Good but demanding serh gut
Good but you gotta pay to do it for more than 10 minutes
Unbelievable how good duo is at teaching us
If you’re paying just ignore but if you want to use this app for free just skip. I can’t handle another 90% completion with almost no mistakes just to be told to pay money or restart and wait. That and I don’t think I’ve learned very much in the YEARS I’ve used the app. Uninstalled forever, switching back to rocket…
It’s a great way to learn but once you want to go delete it it won’t let you
I love it but when I lose all my hearts there are a bunch of ads like Bru sorry if offended.
I was and still am struggling with the same hacker situation I was having three years ago. Unfortunately for me, when I actually had this app on my desktop and it didn’t just look like I had it on my desktop, the notifications became a bit personal and intrusive. For instance, one of them said they had gotten enough of my practices recorded that they could make it look like I was doing all sorts of things. Perhaps the words are exactly the same, but nothing I have just said is exaggerated in any form or fashion, and it is the exact meaning of the point they were trying to get across and caught on surveillance tape talking about when I could not hear them. Just mentioning it, because whoever it was might’ve had a different idea for the company than the people leading the company? I didn’t know what was happening back then, but if that had happened now, I would have suggest the company contact the FBI or their internet crimes division. Because, they might have been a bit more than happy
used to be actually helpful and motivating when they had a heart system but they replaced all their employees with ai slop and changed it to energies which only get you about 2 free lessons and you have to watch ads to get more energy this app is quite literally pay to win if you have a subscription then you get unlimited lessons and they push the subscription constantly with their ai ads when they used to have unlimited lessons when the company wasnt so money hungry and blatantly full of corporate greed.
Love the app itself but this app icon right now is very ugly. It doesn’t change anymore after you do your streak for the day. It’s just an ugly sweaty owl. At least make it an option to pick an icon or change it
It’s okay🙄
Do they even know what music is? They apparently don’t. What’s tempo to them? A light suggestion. They also only teach treble clief, and I play the bass guitar hoping that I would able to learn bass clief. I don’t even think piano uses treble clief, it’s a C instrument. They aspect you to instantly be able to site read on the spot. They only let you read a measure ahead. That’s like giving a baby a fork and aspecting them to know how to use it. Just stick to teaching languages.
Seriously I’m sick of staring at the most heinous app icons. Duo is a funny character but sometimes it’s just borderline nasty. I’d love the option to change it or turn off the insanity. It makes me want to hide the app, and consequently stop using it.
i am over 80 years old and found the subject matter inappropriate or uninteresting for my age. I love Lily and the general approach to the language but don’t care about the competitions.
I learned languages, easily math music. I love this app. Thank you the owner.
Good
This is obnoxious and there doesn’t seem to be any way to avoid it. I try to do Duolingo quietly at night for example and suddenly the sound is blaring when I try to get through video exercises. Respect the volume level that I’ve set, please!
I like duolingk but a couple months ago they randomly began making everything vibrate like crazy. I usually like some vibrations to notify me of stuff but every time i do a lesson on duolingo it hurts my hands ow im in agony help
This app seemed fun for me to use to learn a language on my free time while I work getting my passport together. This app is predatory, claiming a “free” month and then after billing you or something. And it charges you right away. I am currently disputing this charge after cancelling this FALSE trial. Do not download, it’s all AI slop.
I like you should teach sign language too I feel like that would be really cool, but I do love Duolingo either way it would be really cool.
I primarily use Duolingo to study Japanese, and I’m concerned about the accuracy and consistency of the AI-generated content. I’ve noticed recurring pronunciation errors, particularly with は. For example, in から離れます (kara hanaremasu), the は in はなれます should be pronounced “ha,” but the app sometimes pronounces it “wa,” as though it were the topic particle. This is especially frustrating in a language-learning app because learners may not yet know enough to recognize that the pronunciation is incorrect. I’ve also encountered confusing translations that seem to ignore the context of the lesson. For example, while learning the words for “niece” and “nephew,” めい (mei) was unexpectedly translated as someone’s name rather than “niece.” Whether this is an AI error or a design choice, it disrupts the learning pattern and makes the lesson less reliable. I enjoy using Duolingo, but these kinds of errors undermine my confidence in the material. I’d like to see stronger quality control for Japanese p
Streak freezes being used even though the lessons were done and it showed the next day on the dashboard, only to be missing the next day and a streak-freeze used! 3 in the past two weeks! Fix it plz!
